Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

3.0

This was much better than Shadow and Bone, yet it still felt as if the writing was lacking something that would’ve made it more compelling.

The action began at the beginning of the book, and this was something I particularly enjoyed compared to the first instalment of this series. It kept me reading for a while, even if it wasn’t the best it could’ve been.

Alina grew on me more towards the end, which is some surprise considering I didn’t like her very much during the first book and a good chunk of the second.

Mal can go fuck a cactus.

I would’ve liked some more depth to Tolya and Tamar. It’s odd that these twins play a significant role in this book and we don’t really know much about them but the bare basics. I’m hoping we get more information.

The book would’ve been better if the writing had been written differently. There is a lot of exciting things but the way it is written makes it sound very boring.
