The Glassy, Burning Floor of Hell by Brian Evenson

dark mysterious tense medium-paced

4.0

I rarely read short story collections, but having finished Father of Lies, I enjoyed Evenson’s work enough to give this a shot. The vast majority of these stories were intriguing and wildly creative. Haunting atmospheres and worlds. I walked the line of wanting to see some of these fleshed out into actual novels but also appreciating the power in their brevity. Dark, mysterious, and haunting is how I would label this one.
