Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of the Printz committee's meetings this year, because wow, they made some bizarre choices. Including this one, which took home the top prize despite being essentially a YA knockoff of Cloud Atlas. The book is told in a series of seven interrelated short stories, all set on a mysterious island where it is rumored that no children are born and people never age. Unfortunately, taken individually only a couple of these stories are compelling, and taken collectively, they raise more questions than they answer.
