Political intrigue just isn't for me, especially not in a world I don't understand because I haven't read the Imperial Ranch trilogy (my fault!). The scene with the Geck ambassador on her ship was 10/10 though, best part of the book. Also although parts of Ingray's character were interesting, her becoming a prison reformist with a cop girlfriend by the end of the book just doesn't do it for me.
