Aehako has it bad for Kira and even though they two haven't resonated, he knows she is his mate. Kira is standoffish, because she knows she will not resonate due to being infertile. Which the purpose of resonating is having their "cootie" pick matches in order to procreate.
Kira is also dealing with the ear piece the bad aliens put in here, which enables her to hear everything. So when she catches wind that the bad aliens are returning, she knows she must leave the safety of the tribe and head to the mothership and have it removed. But she can't leave alone, Aehako accompanies her on her journey.
Someone else said that the ending with the bad aliens was anticlimactic and I definitely agree. 5 stars purely based on a good time. No thoughts, just vibes.
I love these cinnamon roll heros that look mean, but are actually the sweetest.
