while really excited for the premise of this story, i was unable to really connect with the characters. Eden was dangerously naive and Trent was a tortured antihero turned good who has mega trust issues- but then turns arounds & tells the girl he has had 3 interactions with all the illegal things he has done? i saw the plot twist coming a mile away and i wish it would have been fleshed out more.
conner crais and desiree ketchum kept me engaged in the story with their narrations and i did shed a tear or two at the appropriate times from their narration. my only cringe was their use of child like speech used inconsistent speech sound errors. my speechie brain doesn’t ever quit, so each time his speech error patterns changed it jarred me from the book.
