Hot Head by Damon Suede

5.0

I went in to this quite tentatively. Noticing there was no gay romance books in my Library, I did a little bit of research and this book, Hot Head, came up as a good entry point. I requested the library purchase it and they did.

The only romance I’d read before this was more romance/drama ie; Colleen Hoover. It was so refreshing to read a book that resonated with me, where the ‘spicy’ scenes (and they were SPICY) was something that was written for the gay community.

Despite the overt sexual nature of the writing this book has a lot of heart. Sure, some of the writing was toxic-masculinity-cringeworthy but I overlooked it and came to love the two central characters - Griff and Dante - a lot. By the end of the book I was cheering on their love story, excited to see how all the pieces would fall when the truth came out in the open.

I can see why this was recommended highly for any new readers to gay romance novels, it definitely has my backing too.
