This might be the best book that I will never recommend.
This was one of those novels that had me hooked from the first chapter and never let go. I was on the edge of my seat through all the twists and turns and can genuinely say I did not see multiple events coming.
That being said, it’s one of the most brutal things I’ve ever read, if not the singular most. This story is violent and gory and gritty and harsh from beginning to end. If there are ANY trigger warnings you might want to be aware of going in please look into that before beginning because that content is likely in here. Murder, gun violence, rape, miscarriage… the list goes on.
I’m not sure I can say I enjoyed it necessarily, but this book is one that keep me engaged and that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
