"I wondered how long we'd have to haunt this house together."

WOW! peachy was an exuberant ride from start to end, and not once did i find myself able to catch my breath—in the absolute best way possible. outside of her characters (who have my heart, apparently), kohler's world-building and the intricacy of the included magic system is so delightful to learn about and follow along with. i never once felt suffocated or deterred by it—every aspect of the story was interwoven in such a way that always kept me guessing, and yet, never wanting. peachy is a strong start to what i can already tell is going to be a hit series.

"Real gifts are never asked for, Frank. You only get to choose what you do with it."

i have not been so attached to a fictional male man in a long, long time; i just want to give ben a hug! what a sweetheart. a gritty character who has undeniably made some shitty choices—but it was so unbelievably refreshing to see a dynamic that didn't thrive off of toxicity and poor treatment of one another. frankie and ben make the most anarchic type of pairing but in a loving way and you bet i eat up every single second of it. ((i won't lie and say i'm not also rooting so incredibly hard for jessamae,,,,,,,,anyway))

"She channelled it without burning—she was both magnificent and terrifying. I couldn't look away even as my eyes burned."

frankie is such an undeniably loveable MC; she's messy and truthful, terrified and also incredibly brave, even if she won't acknowledge it. it has been so long since i've read a story and seen myself so clearly through a character's eyes. her growth was wonderful to see, and i find myself genuinely excited to see where kohler takes her character in the next installation of the series. there's so much potential there—within frankie and her powers respectively—and i believe that this story has done a stunning job at opening us up to the craziness of frankie's world by giving us a big, juicy bite of this peach!

"How many people would decide they were entitled to my future?"
