I liked this story! When it comes to books that are set in Asia, I feel like there are a fair amount of fantasy novels (which is a GREAT thing, btw), and far fewer contemporary novels. Let's diversify our bookshelves!
Some notes: I have read some reviews that critique Nick and Rachel as characters, but I think that the more important part of the story is the family dynamic. Additionally, I think that you can tell that this was written in 2013, just due to some story exposition that feels culturally insensitive, but I'm excited to watch the 2018 movie in the hopes that they will have cut those parts out.
