The premise of this book is fabulous and could be fascinating. The illustrations are charming. And yet, I kind of hated it. I hated almost all the characters, I hated the syntax, I hated the total lack of suspense - not that they would break up, because duh, but the reasons and actions behind it were telegraphed from about page 12 - and, irrationally perhaps, I haaaaaated all the fake movie references. Oh my GOD did I hate that.
