By absolutely every metric I can think of, I should have hated this book. And yet I was HOOKED and read it pretty much straight for three days in a row. After a year and a half of reading practically nothing.
Anyway, it leaves me conflicted on how to rate it. In just the most basic measurement of quality, sentence construction was awful--to the point where, multiple times, I had trouble following the meaning. There were continually continuity, POV, grammar, pronoun, and other errors to wade through. The first quarter of the book is brutal to read, and it is dub-con through and through.
And yet. There has to be some recognition for world building and characterization that can make me read through literal torture?
I'm just going to leave this unrated because I'm still mulling over the experience myself. But any potential readers should definitely research CWs and proceed with extreme caution.
