Listened to this in just two days, over two night shifts and I was entertained the whole time. Although it doesn’t have the grand battles of the other books have, I found that this long distance chase very exciting and interesting. The environmental challenges they faced where excellent when I compare them to the voyage in Black Powder War, which felt more tense than some of the battles as it chances of failure were so high. I feel like I say this every time but the world building is exceptional, especially for alternative history - it makes almost drastic changes but they never feel out of place. I was really excited about Lawrence and Temeraire building their home in the Australian outback but alas I know that won’t last. My only criticism is the name, I feel like there could have been something better fits, though I can see why it is called that. Would recommmed
