I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast Is Me by Jamison Shea
3.5
I have to give this book credit for making me think, but I didn’t love it. I took a chance reading a book outside my usual genres. I’m glad I did, but there’s definitely a reason this isn’t my go-to.
I liked Laure but every relationship she had with others just felt underdeveloped. They felt flat and one-dimensional, like they could be defined by just one thing. When there was a kiss, I was like wait, what did I miss. Laure couldn’t carry this on her own m, but the side characters didn’t help.
I also had a bit of trouble with the pacing and the plot. It would grip me, then it’d lose me and this would repeat over and over.
I realize there is a Book 2, and it’s a toss up if I read it.
