A Marked Man by Sandrine Gasq-Dion
3.0

An assassin and shifter story sounded quite appealing and interesting. Upon reading this book, I find that the latter aspect was non-existent and the former failed to engage my attention. With all due fairness, I had just recently finished Zero at the Bone which may have set my expectations up too high for this book.

That being said, this is quite a fun book to read. As a romance, both characters had ample time to get to know each other but I was a bit skeptical about the ease in which Mateo accepted his feelings for Riley and vice versa, despite their history.

The hit on Riley's life creates some much needed intrigue and excitement to spice up the love life between the main characters. It is a serviceable storyline; it shores up the romance developing between Mateo and Riley but honestly, does no more than that.

An enjoyable read overall, but it was not engaging enough for me.
