Guilty Pleasures
by Kitty Thomas
this book was NOT what i was expecting. from the first chapter i was extremely intrigued. why was vivian the way she was? why did she resent michael? why was everything so secretive? i was rooting for michael. he didn’t really give us much but i don’t know, i was feeling it.
i didn’t care for anton or any of their chapters. i mean i think that’s the point, i don’t know? their chapters were just too much. too long. it took up so much of the book. i started skimming their chapters as soon as she went to the house. i just can’t read so much of that. i know it was to show vivian’s transformation and all of that, but eh.
if the book was more of michael and vivian and less of anton (and company) i would have enjoyed this more. kitty thomas is a good writer, i will probably read more from her, it’s just sometimes a bit much!
i prefer when dark books have romantic undertones, it makes reading them easier. you go away with a sense of peace (because you know they’re safe… you know?). i didn’t get that from this book.
idk much to think about.
