This is a fun enemies-to-lovers where Presley and her ex’s brother don’t want to be attracted to each other but their chemistry is crazy hot. They start as enemies but Levi soon realizes his brother is a liar so everything Levi thought he knew about Presley was wrong. The ex is a deadbeat dad who cheated on her then told everyone she left him because the injury that cost him his NFL career derailed her gravy train. He’s only seen his son a handful of times in the last year and his checks bounce on the rare occasions when he pays child support but for years, his family thought Presley was the problem. No, the problem is Tanner’s cheating, drinking, gambling and selfishness. Living with Presley and his nephew, Alex, opens Levi’s eyes and the three quickly bond. Alex is starved for a father figure and can’t get enough of his uncle.
Once they finally give in to their attraction, Presley can’t get enough of Levi either but then Tanner shows up out of the blue and turns the world upside down for everyone. Everyone was way too worried about Tanner’s feelings so although I was sympathetic to their plight to an extent, the angst started to bore me. Tanner didn’t deserve their sacrifices so I was getting frustrated but it all turned out fine. This is otherwise a sweet, steamy and funny story about two very likeable characters, so I enjoyed it very much.
