Blue Sisters was honestly mid, a definite let down for me. Personally I feel there was a lot of missed potential here. The premise of the book hooked me, and I was hopeful to read about 3 Sisters growing and coping with grief.
However instead, the 'growth' (I use lightly) occurs way to late in the book, in my opinion.
Of course there were some good moments in the book, but the more I progressed, the less likeable the characters became. As mentioned by other reviews, the book started out strong, but became weaker in the second half.
There were only 2 characters in my opinion that were likable/redeemable by the end, Bonnie and Chiti.
My main issue was the "growth". Avery's progression was the most natural/significant, which was a strong point to me. Lucky, didnt start her growth until the last part of the book. However her growth and personal changes are essentially ruined by the epilogue and how the writer chose Lucky to have a career as a musician - a poor choice for someone who's sobriety was a major key to her healing.
As for Bonnie, her 'growth' is tied to her getting the guy she always wanted - which does the character a disservice in my opinion.
Lastly two other things I disliked:
1. The way Pavel's dialogue was written.
2. Having Bonnie end up with a person who has known her since he was ALMOST THIRTY and she was a MINOR (14 year age gap) is a choice.... I understand shes in her 30s during the plot of the novel, but that's kinda gross
Long story short - not sure if I'd recommend this one or read it again.
