Shopaholic to the Rescue by Sophie Kinsella

4.0

Shopaholic to the Rescue is about Becky and her best friend, Suze, dropping everything to search for Becky's dad and Suze's husband Tarquin. They don't go alone due to the whole entire family and friends want to help these two girls as well. Becky is totally out of her element while on this adventure because she's in a motor home, eating at diners in the middle of the desert, and Suze is keeping her distance from Becky during the whole thing. Of course Becky puts on her detective shoes and tries to solve all of the mysteries that have popped up during their wacky ass trip to Las Vegas.

SpoilerNow this book was so funny. Becky not shopping and trying to cure her addiction was hilarious to read about. I'm so happy with how this book ended because she can finally shop again - but just not go bat shit crazy with credit cards again. No more debt for this women.

Minnie was hilarious throughout this book as well. I wish there would be a series about her but I have no idea if it even exists or not. If it does, I would totally read it. If it doesn't, then I will just be sad and sit in a dark corner forever - until it's written of course. More adventures with Minnie and the sheep please.

Suze kept changing and acting crazy. God, she was a huge bitch in the beginning and I had no idea what the hell was her problem. Then the whole "cheating" thing in her marriage just blew my mind. I'm still confused and thinking about it because I just would never have imagined that happening. Not in a million years people. I'm shook.

Then the whole thing when they found Becky's dad and how her mom yelled at him for making her think he was dead. And what was his response? I did say I had a little errand to run. I'm sorry but what..? I was just confused the whole time with that scene and I still can't wrap my head around it.

Overall, I really liked the book. It was a pretty quick read and I have a feeling I would probably reread this series again in a year or two. Just so I can get more Minnie - obviously.
