3.25/3.5 stars — And thank God Cassie decided on a guy by the end of this book because her constant back and forth between Dean and Michael was so annoying! It actually made the front half of this book a hard read for me and I was actually planning to drop the rest of the series. But the case in this one is more interesting, and I found Cassie’s dynamic with Sterling a big addition to her character development. Michael and Lia actually drop in my character ratings by the end of this one because I found them slightly one-note, but overall, I’m excited to see how the characters develop over the last two books. Crossing my fingers that the poker theme in the next book means it’s Sloane driven because she’s so obviously the Spencer Reid stand in, which automatically makes her my favorite. Give my girl more storyline!!
