Slightly baffled by Nora Ephron. I enjoy some of her movies and am looking forward to reading Heartburn (her fictional novel).
She is a wildly accomplished woman, with a finger in many pies if you will.
People seem to adore this collection of essays, but I felt they were just fine. The first couple of essays felt a bit shallow and empty to me? All of these reasons to feel bad about being a woman (some valid), but I wasn't really pulled in... a lot of the essays touch on ageing, specifically ageing as a woman. Maybe I can't relate as my experience of a disabled woman is different from most, but some of her takes felt shallow to me.
She is at her best when writing about reading, and funnily enough, death.
