I had to force myself to finish this book. I'd hoped it would end my reading slump, not contribute. Alas, I felt nothing for this couple. I didn't sympathize with them over their trauma, nor did I tolerate their B.S. well. And they had some serious B.S. between them.
The most likable character is Nathan, the protector, and that's pretty messed up considering he's a side character.
Still, I'm partly blaming my current bad attitude for some of my animosity towards this book. It is still Pam Godwin, afterall. I get what she was trying to do, but this one just missed the mark for me.
