Gideon was such a good 'teacher' but I needed him to grovel more. That ending left me feeling a little unsatisfied. Also, no matter how many times the author described Lucy as a white woman with blue eyes, I kept picturing her as a hot black woman. I don't even know why 😂😂 but it worked better that way...at least for me.
