Never Have I Ever: My Life (So Far) Without a Date by Katie Heaney
1.0
I read this book quickly because several parts of it were kind of relatable and interesting to me, but also because by skipping all of the unnecessary parenthetical sentences I was able to cut the length of the book in half. look at the title of the book, even! I was so frustrated with her writing that I skimmed the last three chapters and didn't even bother with the epilogue. spoiler alert: she's still single and I'm not surprised. I felt like I was reading her Lisa Frank diary that she talked about in great detail. no one needs to know so much about a little girl's grade school crushes. we get that you were boy-crazy then as you are now.
the biggest annoyance with this book is that for over 200 pages she complains about miscommunications and random make-out sessions with boys all while never being able to nail one down and get married..and she's only 25. write another book in 10 years and maybe I'll enjoy it a bit more.
not to say that someone in their 20's can't be frustrated by never having been in a serious relationship, but maybe stop trying to find your husband in college at frat parties and you'll have a bit more luck.
