Well this book was very mid. Better then the first book but still mid af.

So through out this whole book they made the choice to make it seem like it would or could be a step sibling thing that could happen cuz Mab could have been her daughter. But omg I would have literally thrown this book against the wall and then burned it to the ground if she’d made this book into a step sibling thing.

Thankfully she didn’t. I mean i was more mad that she even made it a possibility then actually thinking it would happen. To me it was very obvious that she wouldn’t be her daughter but isn’t that this whole book series in a nutshell, predictable.

There has been some foreshadowing that she could be a primordial, they have mentioned that u can’t become a primordial cuz they are simply born. Soooo I’m hoping she will be one cuz if she’d turn out to be Mabs daughter I would have murdered someone. I’m so happy they didn’t do that cuz it’s just very weird and just ewww.

But since we still don’t know what she is my bet is primordial or like fates. Like I have a theory that she is a fate and that’s why she sees the golden lines and can cut them and effectively kill people (like the fates in Disney’s Hercules movie).

But like tell me why? Whyyyy did it take the whole second book for them to reach the fairy realm?!????

LIKE BE FUCKING FOR REAL.

Both books severely lacks and a lot of the time this book was just so repetitive and filled with filler chapters. Like she just wanted to drag this book out for as long as she could. Like why? Why did it take until the end of the second book for something to start happening??

Then I don’t even wanna mention the smut. Like no. Please no. It was not great bordering on like assault in both the first book and the second. Where she has just almost died and he needs to fuck her then and there in front of his friend?? To what? Stake a claim on her like it wasn’t dreadfully obvious that they were mates. Like it wasn’t obvious that the only reason he had even seen her was to try and save her and that he had zero interest in her. Like HELLO?!????

Nah this book was basically just them fighting, her saying she wants to be independent, then not being able to be without him, to then fighting again and then having sex and then they just repeated that throughout their whole book.

I really liked the side plots tho. Like Holt and Emelda, ugh plsss I love them.

ooooo and I love Fallon and Estrellas relationship to each other!!! It’s so cute and wholesome.

I’m lowkey scared that the author might ruin Fallon as a character to make her into a villain we didn’t need or want.

I’m so happy that they are finally in the fairy realm and i feel like this is where I’d personally wanted the second book to start but whatever that’s just me. I’ve literally been waiting for them to reach the fairy realm since the first book. I’m fucking crying out here.

The second book felt like an info dump and truly gave second book syndrome lmao.
