The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

5.0

"So long, and thanks for all the fish."

I still can't tell if this book is a work of staggering craziness or staggering genius. Probably, definitely, both.

In the preface of my edition Douglas Adams wrote that he first got the idea for this novel while drunk in a field looking up at the start. And honestly, I could tell. The book is quirky and crazy, and full of creativity, but also plot twists that made me gaps and also laugh.

The beginning was a bit slow to take off and I couldn't see how all the pieces fit together, but once it took off oh man was it special. I just had a great time reading and chuckling along to it, it put a smile on my face, and it became one of my favourite books of all time.

Suffice it to say, I am very excited to continue the series. Also, did I mention, what amazing titles all the books in the series have!?
