Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi (Novel) Vol. 1 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

5.0

Still a great book, although I'm a bit sad that u didn't get to experience all those shocks I felt everytime Lan Wangji did basically anything.
Favorite scene has to be the one in which Wangji is like "mine" and Wei Wuxian is like "he was talking about his sword!!"
My favorite character is Little Apple, obviously, and it should be yours too. I will be reading the second book now, and I'm very excited.
Hopefully we get more Drunk Lan Wangji, more Little Apple, and more rabbits.
Also more of that angry child I don't remember the name of. He's a sweetheart when he isn't acting like a whole menace to society.

3rd read:
"Rejoice, Wei Wuxian is dead!" glad to see that even after the total betrayal I just went through, I still smile at these words.

Mo Xuanyu is actually such a tragic character if you think about it. I feel really bad for him.
"He was in need of a band of tyrannical ghost generals to do his bidding" as we all tend to be in of.
"... no matter how thoroughly Lan Wangji was praised as an unrivaled rare beauty, nothing could help the fact that he looked profoundly embittered, as if he's lost his wife." said the resurrected wife

the fact that everyone is still obsessed with Wei Wuxian after 13 years really shows how sexy and ho- I mean, powerful he was. How powerful he was.

"wow, Lan Zhan really changed! He doesn't react to my antics anymore, he sleeps next to me many nights, and he just lets me do whatever I want - even steal his money!"
...
"Maybe he and Mo Xuanyu had some sort of romantic relationship?"
Bruh.

Wei Wuxian is so shockingly bad at lying

"That face was forever colored by pride, twisted by sneers, and veiled by gloom. But now, it was as though it had brightened. It was hard to tell whether he was gritting his teeth with bone-deep hatred or whether he was feral with joy."
JIANG CHENG MISSED WEI WUXIAN AND HE'S HAPPY HE'S BACK YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE.

Not only as good as I remember but honestly a lot better. This book is FUN, it's just FUN. I just really enjoyed reading it, and it honestly felt like all parts were actually important to the plot. MXTXs improvement is obvious in this book, considering how many things seemed unimportant in SVSSS.
Lan Wangji is a treat to read about, especially through Wei Wuxian's somewhat childish\oblivious look on him. Wei Wuxian is stuck to how Lan Wangji was 13 years before, and it's honestly really funny to watch. He's totally fine with how different everyone else is, and yet Lan Wangji is like a mystery to him. Their dynamic is great, and although Wei Wuxian might be stupidly oblivious to it, it's obvious that both men really like each other. While Lan Wangji's liking towards Wei Wuxian is much more obvious, it isn't hard to notice Wei Wuxian's special "interest" in Lan Wangji. "This man is so boring that he's interesting" this isn't something people usually say. It's not something Wei Wuxian says about anyone else, either. This is my main proof, but I have many many more.
They both like each other and probably liked each other from the start.
They're absolutely lovely.
