Re-reading this as an adult just made me appreciate how Rowling's writing is simplistic but not too kiddish unlike so many YA books out there. This is really a book for all ages.

But this book is really just world building and it shows because the pace accelerates towards the end with the fight with Quirrel only lasting 2-3 chapters
