The New Voices of Fantasy by Eugene Fisher, Brooke Bolander

3.0

Since again, I am reviewing anthology, I will be listing each storyindividually and evaluating them. Apparently, I realise that fantasy probably has not been Actually, this I believe was the best and most well explored. About a fairytale in the school and how it will take many people who vanish without a trace. And the main character also jumping eventually to find out, quite interesting overall. \nRating: 5 out of 5with me lately.

Hungry Daughters Of Starving Mothers

This was rather memorable, and that I did find the tale rather interesting and the main character a very interesting sort.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Selkie stories are for losers

I did like the way that it felt so real, about Selkie and the main character doing a fantastic explanation of it. All the while having quite a bit of introspection which I always like.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Tornado’s Siren

This was rather okay, and that I did find the writing clear. Sadly, I didn’t feel like connecting with the main character at all.

Left The Century To Sit Unmoved

Actually, this I believe was the best and most well explored. About a fairytale in the school and how it will take many people who vanish without a trace. And the main character also jumping eventually to find out, quite interesting overall.

A Kiss With Teeth

This was rather interesting about Vlad, and eventually his wife. An interesting tale with touching moments and an ending that does make me wonder for quite a bit what just happened.

Rating: 5 out of 5

Jackalope Wive

Didn’t really remember much about it, the writing was quite dull and I’m more confused about the world than anything else.

Rating: 1 out of 5

The Cartographer Wasps And The Anarchist Bees

Quite entertaining about the whole idea of bees and wasps, and the main character who seems to be a beekeeper.

Rating: 3 out of 5

The Practical Witch’s Guide to acquiring real estate

I didn’t feel that this was particularly well done, or even interesting. Perhaps the style was just a little too removed for my liking.

Rating: 2 out of 5

The Tallest Doll In New York City

Didn’t really remember too much about this story, it just didn’t ignite my interest. The whole doll thing was quite interesting if a little boring.

Rating: 2 out of 5

The Hunting Of Apollo A7LB

Well, not my type either. I found Hazel to be rather flat and the writing easy to skim true. Sci-fi just never works so much for me.

Rating: 2 out of 5

Here Be Dragons

I found the main character rather relatable, and the dragon hunting not that interesting if you ask me. But the first one where I won’t just be flipping pages.

The One They Took Before

A rather interesting and mysterious one where many died and Kayla seems to be at the centre of it all. Not surprising but could use a little more answers than that.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Tiger Baby

Perhaps the whole entire thing about it being set in my home country really attracted me, although it did suffer a little from being unable to hold my attention too much.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

The Duck

Found it quite a bore, and needing a little more interesting about the duck and the main character.

Rating: 1 out of 5

Wing

Again, quite interesting and mysterious. The whole story works since it never gives much names, and that the ending was mysterious enough to continue to invite me.

Rating: 3 out of 5

The Philosophers

Using a guide format, just never gets too much of my interest. And again, it fails to really interes me.

My Time Among The Beach Blowers

Again, I didn’t find anything particularly interesting about this.

Rating: 1 out of 5

The Husband Stitch

I found the experimental way of it, clearly interesting and about the entire story of her being something different. I just enjoyed how it is rather normal, and at the same time something is lurking in the back to suggest otherwise.

Rating: 5 out of 5

The Pauper Prince and the Eucalyptus Jinn

I just didn’t remember too much of it. It just didn’t keep my interest long enough.
