American Psycho
by Bret Easton Ellis
Hmmm. Yeah. The book definitely commits to what it wants to be. I commend it for that but can also recognize that it is not for me. It holds no punches when it comes to the brutality. I did enjoy when there was reflection of how distanced Bateman seems from everyone else. The rest teetered between asinine conversations and content that could be in a snuff film. Does it matter how unreliable the narrator is if I still have to read all of the toture scenes?
