Actually loved this. The narration of the audiobook was amazing, and then the content was just so great.
Didn’t ever feel talked down to, everything was explained super well so definitely would work for someone who’s just getting into linguistics or feminism. Raises some really interesting points and discusses the history (or herstory) of everything super well. Definitely going to be thinking about this one a lot.
I particularly like the discussion of teaching ‘no means no’ when in reality, no is usually conveyed in many other different ways instead. Also the breakdown of gendered language in English and other languages too was super interesting. The whole book really haha.
