So sweet! My little heart can’t take it, lol. But this small-town-girl-meets-big-city-world is great, and I like the positive energy of it all.

This is so cute and makes me mentally assume the OTL pose frequently. I love slice of life media so much, y’all. Mitsumi is so adorably naive and wholly committed to enjoying everything the city has to offer that it makes her super endearing - to us as readers and to her new classmates. This first volume hooked me in mainly because she’s such a great protagonist.

Shima is an adorable love interest and definitely has that Golden Retriever Energy that can be appealing in fictional guys. His gentle way of navigating conversations and the clear care he displays in wanting everyone to be comfortable is sweet! His go-with-the-flow attitude helps with that too.

I like the themes being tackled here in terms of being aware that assuming the best can sometimes be incorrect, but also it’s important to sometimes see the bright side of everyone and everything. Being cynical is depressing, being relentlessly hopeful and optimistic is refreshing. I also like how Mitsumi showcases that popularity is socially ingrained in how her arrival has made an eclectic group of friends that “typically” wouldn’t be hanging out. But they gel together so well!

Anyway, I’m so glad I picked this up on a whim after an artist I follow talked about it. Influencing working for good for once!!
