Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag

Ahhh what a lovely read! Though the book was really short and ended sort of on a cliffhanger, I thoroughly enjoyed each page of it. This is the sort of books that just let you experience the lives of the characters vividly. I found myself fully emerssed into the story to point I couldn’t stop thinking about it afterwards for a long long time. The narrative is great, it kind of beings everything to life. The title and cover page (the one with ants on it, not this edition) really intrigued me at first, and I’m so happy that they make sense to me now to the point I would want to use the word ‘Ghachar Ghochar’ in my colloquial language. ;)
I would have loved to know what happens at the end, because I was a little disturbed when it ended so abruptly. But now that I look at it, the ending lets the reader imagine of the endless possibilities of what could have happened. I haven’t read many books that does so much to the reader in such limited pages!
