The Life of Elves by Muriel Barbery

Gorgeous prose, excruciatingly or exquisitely slow pace depending on how you look at it, disappointingly shallow story about what seems to be nothing more than vague good vs. evil. I would still read the sequel, and anything else Barbery writes, just for the beautiful sentences. And I can't resist this half-human, half-elf girl protagonist.
