Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses by Kristen O'Neal

3.0

First half was really realistic to the complicated feelings of being chronically ill and I loved it! But then it kinda ended with a “you can do anything you set your mind to! Don’t let your disability limit you!” and it sat uncomfortably with me. I also don’t really understand why a white author wrote a poc pov mc—she didn’t do a *bad* job with it (I think. I am also white, so I’m probably not able to see it fully). But it didn’t feel like it was relevant to the plot, so I’m not sure why she thought she needed to do it?

It was chaotic and fun, but it wasn’t the rep I wanted. I really did like it, but the more I think about it, the more I’m uncomfortable with the ending
