When I started to read this book, I didn’t realize it was YA, and it didn’t necessarily feel like YA to me.
The main characters are teenagers in modern-day Seoul. They are 17 & 18, I believe, but they didn’t make a ton of angsty teenager decisions. They oftentimes made surprisingly adult decisions even if their communication could have been a lot better. At any rate, I think this helped to make the book not feel so YA as it could’ve. I digress though…
Overall, I thought this book was enjoyable. It can work as a standalone or part of a series. For me personally, I didn’t find the cliffhanger at the end compelling enough to drive me to finish the series. This will probably remain as a standalone read for me.
