Where Death Meets the Devil by L.J. Hayward

4.0

Yet another Ethan and Jack that completely stole my heart.

Jack Reardon has been undercover for the past fifteen months when his cover is blown wide open and he finds himself in a torture shack only to be rescued by the same man who ruined his cover, notorious international assassin Ethan Blade.

Alternating between two timelines, we witness how in the past, Jack and Ethan met and struggled to survive in the harsh desert together and in the present, Jack facing the consequences of withholding the truth, when Ethan appears at Jack’s off the record work building only willing to speak to him. It served the Blacklist pilot episode with Reddington and I ate it up.

There is barely any romance in this book, it mainly focuses on the ‘unveiling the imposter’ plot but the push and pull between the two characters was to die for. Also I know Ethan is a cold, ruthless, meticulous assassin but he’s so adorable sometimes. He’s my little meow meow.
