The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It for Life by Twyla Tharp

3.0

This book has some really great insights, and if you want to revitalize your creative practice this is a good place to start. It will help you think about the rituals that help you be creative and the blockers that may be holding you back.

I do feel like this book strays a little too close to memoir, and I feel like the author kind of looses the audience . A lot of the exercises are heavily dance and movement centric, she seems to assume that everyone has the same music background as her, and she spends a little too much time on needing to accept how aging prevents her from dancing how she wants.

There is still a lot you can learn from the author's experience so it is still worth a read but there is a still a lot more to human creativity that what is in this book.
