Straightforward complicated and enjoyable. Mattie Ross is a wonderful young narrator, very no nonsense and mature but you still can sense her youth. Rooster is an unforgettable grumpy old drunken man of true grit. It’s a pure plot of revenge and western values. Very easy to read
