I enjoy the amount of philosophy in Goodkind's work. Thinking about how races could come to think about things completely differently. The sword of truth books are so much better than the TV series. My favorite quote would be explaining the wizards 8th rule: "Be justified in your convictions. Be completely committed. Earn what you want and need rather than waiting for others to give you what you desire."
Which in essence is "Deserve Victory".
This was the first sword of truth book where I skimmed a few parts as the amount of recap was getting a bit much.
