Pregnant With His Majesty's Heir by Annie West

4.0

The King of Vallort, Lucien, is charmed by simple working-class beauty, Aurélie, in this Cinderella-esque romance.

The story starts with grief, with Lucien-a mysterious man in Annecy in the French Alps restaurant where Aurélie Balland works. A few months later, when the one night stand is a not-so-distant memory for him, she reaches Vallort palace, to tell him that she's carrying his baby.

This was a good one, except for some not so good moments along the way. Especially when the King's political marriage and their "proposal" about "handling" the royal pregnancy left much to be desired. Also, when Aurélie wanted not to be railroaded and yet, that's exactly what Lucien did was as amusing and yet not so much at times.

But, once they reached an understanding and togetherness, which was surprisingly early in the story, thank the author, there was so much love and passion between these two. Okay, mostly passion, with one or two graphic sex scenes (lovely!) and sweet, sweet caring gestures for each other. Sigh! Though that is not there is all to it.

Because there are yet more storms to put out, especially when you're a royal and having a baby out of yet undecided wedlock, yep, even in these definitely scandalous times.

This was my third read by [a:Annie West|16388|Annie West|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1272125422p2/16388.jpg] and I enjoyed it. Especially since I love both pregnancy and royal romances. And it had not only a wonderful ending but a beautiful epilogue ten years down the line.

P.S. Read here to know what the author has to say about royal romances!
