I really liked this book but I'm fairly certain that I would've like it way more if I was still in school and and more into YA romance novels in general. This sapphic fake-dating sports romcom is really fun and I enjoyed their constant banter in the beginning. Their dynamic is refreshing and yet the toxic aspect of it all was too much for me. SPOILER: I appreciate how Scottie had to fully process, grief and let go of her ex before she started dating the Desi MC Irene. This is so important, even for adults and I wish it was more common to wait and not just jump from one relationship to another. I just found myself not caring much for the school aspect of the story nor the sports one so my rating isn't as high as it could be but that's due to my personal preferences. I totally see how this is a 5 stars for others and love that there's more sapphic rep for the YA audience out there. The more the merrier.
