3.0

THE GOOD: I really enjoyed the various mediums used to tell the story. It was engaging and progressed the story at some points. Many of the descriptions were quite grotesque with an adequate amount of comedic relief to lighten the mood when needed.
-
THE BAD: I could sense a strong Stephen King influence, but the writing didn’t feel independent enough. Many of the animal abuse scenes felt completely unnecessary and added purely for shock value. The ending was rather underwhelming with a predictable ending. I was okay with the stereotyped characters as the plot was so engaging, But I was disappointed that the stereotypes wrote the story themselves.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I wasn’t really scared, more so just grossed out at some points. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
