The Death Sculptor by Chris Carter
5.0
dark mysterious tense

📖 This one was super creepy but so awesome. A killer with a real creative streak and an appetite for gruesome deaths and payback. As all Chris Carters Hunter & Garcia books this one had me hooked in early doors. I just love the blood and gore so beautifully described that you can practically smell the carnage. Their Captain Barbara Blake is definitely one of my favourite characters she is a no nonsense boss bitch. I also really enjoyed Alice Beaumont a new character that joined the team to help the guys solve the crimes her computer savvy hacking abilities help to speed things along. The sexual tension between her and Hunter too is something to savour and enjoy.
Narrated by Thomas Judd, as always he does a sensational job bringing the characters to life. Especially that of Robert Hunter he would make any woman swoon.
The killer is chopping up bodies left right and center to create these death sculptures. Expertly casting cryptic shadow puppet clues that the team has to try and solve before another body turns up. I really loved the story arc of this one I had many a guess of who I thought could be the murderer but as usual I was wrong. The true mark of a writing genius that you can never predict the ending of any of his books Carter always delivers. This one is no different.

I give this one an artfully gruesome 5 Lucy Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
