“Love’s not supposed to be easy. But if you’re lucky, it’s simple.”

Beatrice barely has enough time to juggle law school, study for the bar, grade student papers, and job hunt. And yet rent is somehow still due, her water heater barely works, and two of her best friends are going through a nasty divorce. As she waltzes into the divorce lawyer’s office to give him a piece of her mind, she expects to never see him again. But of course, when her professor goes on leave, it’s the very same divorce lawyer who takes his place.

Simply put, I absolutely adored this book!!! It’s definitely one of my new favorite romance novels. I loved how realistically Bea’s vulnerabilities were portrayed. She is feisty, stubborn, angry, and anxious—all so relatable—especially when under pressure. I felt for her as she fought for everyone but herself. That loneliness paired with life’s anxieties is so real. Queue totally cool, calm, collected (and totally swoon-worthy) Nathan. Their forced proximity pushes Bea to question what’s right, wrong, and what she really wants. Ahhh, I loved it all.

I stayed up waaaay too late finishing this book. Over the next few days, I whined to my husband about missing the characters and carried the book from room to room rereading my favorite parts. If that doesn’t scream “five star read”, I don’t know what does.
