I really enjoyed this book.
I loved how the mental illness of the main character was depicted - not as something quirky and interesting but as something devastating and mentally exhausting. I loved how she wasn’t just cured of it in a magical, inspirational way but rather showed to slowly learn how to cope and that it gets better and worse over time.

I found the main „plot” not that interesting but it wasn’t really the main focus of the book. It wanted us to focus more on the characters.

I really liked how the book dealt with friendship - that’s why I am SO VERY disappointed that in the very end (it’s not a spoiler - and I can’t wrap it properly in spoilers tags so continue cautiously)

There is a quote
You remember your first love because they show you, prove to you, that you can love and be loved, that nothing in this world is deserved except for love, that love is both how you become a person, and why
About specifically ROMANTIC love.
And I couldn’t disagree more, especially since the book showed us different types of love.
I admit, that it could be just a misplacement of the (very long) sentence and that the author wanted us to consider love as not only a romantic thing but a general feeling of love. And I hope that was the case.
But honestly it is sandwiched between sentences about romantic love so I am still disappointed.
