Thanks again to Maggie for providing a very fun read. I DNFed something way too lore heavy and I needed a pick me up.
My list (assume there is spoilers):
  • This book really legitimatised the Fairy Market. It never really landed in the original series for me but this book fleshed it out well and I bought it this time.
  • Good ol’ Declan. Isn’t he just insane. Love him and Jordan and their art talk. I feel educated (I learned four fun facts).
  • Overall I prefer the sequel but that is because it is payoff. This is some stellar setup though.
  • Farooq-Lane never registers in my memory even though I really like her chapters. Parsifal was funny right up until he was very sad.
  • Forgot this book ends so cheesily. Fucking magic swords. Whatever, I’m not the fun police.
  • I do normally hate the “the government is trying to kill magic” plot line but we’ve spent four books not doing that I think we’re allowed to cash in the chips now, non?
  • Oh Matthew. I have no forgotten where you end up but I’m excited to follow you there.
  • Sorry, just, Ronan’s thinking through all his worst memories and up there with discovering his fathers dead body is his boyfriend leaving him on delivered for, like, less than a day.
That’s enough for one day I think.
