I was disappointed with the degree to which I did not enjoy this book. Perhaps it’s my age and I no longer fall into the target age group for such books, but it lacked the previous feelings of enjoyment, interest and excitement when listening. I could see where younger readers would find more contentment when picking up this read, as the humor was fun and the storylines were cute. It just wasn’t necessarily for me. I would also note that it lacked much of the adventure and suspense of prior Rick Riordan reads, which as aspects that I favor.
Would recommend for: teenage readers, those who enjoy mythology
Tropes:
-Learning about family
-Growing Up
-the Power of Teamwork
-Side Quests
-Magical Creatures
