It is really interesting to read this book in conjunction with Eric Ives's biography, because Warnicke and Ives come to some diametrically opposed opinions about Anne Boleyn's life and the cause of her downfall. They can't even agree on when she was born! Read together they are something of a masterclass in how two historians can make cogent, reasonable, and completely divergent arguments using the same bits and pieces of historical data. Overall, I think I side more with Ives than with Warnicke but I highly recommend reading both.
