I was originally interested in this book because of all the pictures and documents from the 60s but the story was not what I expected at all. I'm glad that I ended up listening to it on audio. The narrator was really good and I felt like I was actually listening to a 5th grader tell her story. Frannie had kind of a hard life because of the many things happening to her and her family. But I think it makes her unique and also fit well into the actual history aspect too.

I don't remember learning about the cold war in school so I really liked the way that the story was intertwined within the actual history. I liked the part where it talks about going to the very 1st McDonalds.

I liked the story but I'm not sure if I will read on in the series when the rest are published but I know people that are history buff will like this.
